October 27, 2014

Uber is a simple and user-friendly mobile application that allows you to hire chauffeurs who drive premium vehicles.  The company, which was established in California is currently in more than 70 cities worldwide and has been in Malaysia for a year now.  They boast premium cabs like the Nissan Teana, Toyota Camry, as well as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Uber is getting really popular nowadays, with well-known celebrities around the world patronizing their private taxi services.  Luckily for you, Uber is currently running a promotional campaign to get new people like you to try their service.  The steps are simple, just head over to the Google Play store or the Apple App store and download the free app.

Once you have done so, you will be prompted to enter the promotional code that will immediately get you RM30 credited to your Uber account. Yay! Free credit, woohoo!  Your credit card will only be charged once your RM30 worth of free credit has been used up.

When you register for the free Uber app, you must first enter your credit card details in order to create an account.  At the end of every trip, your registered credit card will be automatically charged.  You may however need to pay for the toll fees in cash.

Uber charges a base fare of RM3.00 for each trip and additional charges of RM0.35 per minute and RM1.15 for every kilometer.  Trips from Kuala Lumpur to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will be charged at a flat rate of RM270.  Uber services can only be used for fares that cost a minimum of RM5.00 and cancellation charges cost RM5.00.

Uber is extremely simple and easy to use!  Request a ride by a press of a button, a nearby driver picks you up, you inform him of your destination, and the payment is processed through the app.

If you’re planning to shop online this weekend, this article is for you. We’ve listed the top 8 fashion items every woman must have! Do you have them in your wardrobe? If not, you might want to own these fashionable items!

#1 The Little Black Dress

Every woman knows that she needs to have at least one little black dress in her wardrobe.  It is essential to invest in one that’s special.  When searching for that perfect little black dress, look for one that has unique details e.g. an embellished belt, interesting sleeves or collars.  Also make sure you find the right fit.

#2 Black Opaque (nope, not the transparent) Tights

A really good pair of black tights will definitely make your legs look slimmer.  It also helps you get away with wearing a dress that’s, erm, too short.  If you don’t have a pair of opaque tights, you can try semi-opaque ones but do double up on them for a more solid look.  They will also keep you warm in your Antartica-like office so you’ll be killing two birds with one stone.

#3 Blazer

Blazers are the in-thing!  A well-fitted blazer has a very classic and feminine look that complements any body type so feel free to match it with anything.  YES, ANYTHING!  Pair it with a little dress, trousers, faded jeans, or even with skirts.  Words of caution though, make sure you find one that really fits you well and accentuates your waist.  Like any piece of clothing, a good fitting one won’t look like it’s swallowing you up.

#4 Jeans! Jeans! Jeans!

Jeans will never go out of trend.  They come in various colours, cuttings, designs, and sizes.  It’s safe to say that you must have at least a pair of these basics in your wardrobe.  Flared jeans can produce pretty flattering shapes for most body types, as long as you know how to mix and match it right.  For a start, you can try pairing them up with basic tops, light accessories, and a pair of wedges to get extra height while maintaining a casual and comfortable look.

#5 Printed Scarf

Printed scarves make so much of a difference when your #ootd just comprises of a basic tee and a pair of jeans.  The secret lies in the way the articles of your clothing complement each other.  As a rule of thumb, go for a printed scarf as a “bright” piece if you’re planning to hop in that basic t-shirt and jeans as this creates a more appealing look.  On the other hand, you can calm a striking outfit by topping it with a plain scarf.

#6 Statement Necklaces

Basics rock, and so do statement accessories!  Make sure you have at least a few basics i.e. tank tops, v-neck tees, plain maxi dresses, etc.  Then top them up with statement necklaces or accessories (do not overdo, though).  They will pretty much turn a simple outfit into a strong yet feminine one.

#7 Red Flats

Although black is the obvious choice when it comes to flats, red gives your outfit a pop of colour.  They pretty much work for any season or occasion.  You can pair your red flats with a striped blouse and a skirt or if you’d like, skinny black trousers can do the trick too.
